When was the last time you connected with a past client of yours… just to say Howdy?
As solo entrepreneurs we all get so dang busy that it’s hard to just keep up with what’s on our plate from day to day, much less pay attention to those clients who aren’t demanding our immediate attention at the moment. But it’s so important to take the time and develop an easy way for you to stay in touch with your clients… all of them! I mean the clients and fans with whom you may not be working right now but you’ve worked with them in the past.
If you don’t stay in touch with your clients in some way, they will forget about you. And by staying in touch, I don’t mean asking them to buy something from you or do something for you. I mean simple, straightforward communications that let them know that you are thinking about them, that you appreciate them.
And this goes for you artists and musicians out there, too. Are there people who used to come to your shows regularly, who were perhaps some of your biggest fans… but lately, they don’t come around much any more? Or they used to respond to your posts on Facebook, but now, not so much?
Here’s the deal. If you don’t stay in touch in some way, it is so easy for your clients and fans to forget all about you.
So, take the time and make the effort to create a stay-in-touch system that makes it easy for you to stay connected with all your clients, past and present. It doesn’t have to be eloborate, but it does have to be sincere. In other words, don’t do this because I’m telling you to. Do this because you genuinely care about staying connected to your clients and fans.
