Today’s Quick, Kick-Ass Content & Copy Creation Video Tip shows you how to increase your income by $500 a day by using hand puppets in your marketing.
Okay, not really.
But I got your attention, didn’t I?
And THAT’S what I share with you in today’s video: how to grab the attention of your reader with your opening… those first words that introduce your content or copy. Like your headline, subject line or title of your blog post.
The opening “Ta-Dah!” of your content must wake people out of their work-a-day trance and get them interested in your message or offer. (Oh yeah, that’s tweetable! Tweet it here.)
Because people today are bombarded with information and words and more words… so much so that they’ve become numb to it all. The words in your headline, subject line and blog title have to poke them where it matters so they feel it resonate inside of them, calling them to pay attention and keep reading.
This doesn’t mean that your headline or title needs to be over-the-top and hypey. It just needs to make a direct hit into the heart of what your client or reader needs and wants. Here are a few tips on how to do that:
Tip #1:
Let your headline or title be a call to come and get something your client really needs or wants. Include one or two irresistible, juicy benefits that you promise to deliver to your client if he or she just keeps reading. Let those first words ring out and tell the world how your delectable piece of content will reveal the answers, secrets, tips, tricks and tools to make life grand and success a sure thing.
Tip #2
Get Creative and Be Outrageous. Really. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and do something new and uniquely you in your opening. The truth is, there are so many headlines, subject lines and blog titles that sound like a million other headlines, subject lines and blog titles. Boring! So, don’t be afraid to change it up. Be bold. Stand out. Do it your way.
Tip #3
Use hand puppets. (Just kidding).
Tip #4
Include the words “you” and “your” in your opening… if you can. By addressing your reader directly, by making your opening about them, you will get them to lean in and take a closer look. For instance, if you have a blog title that reads: How To Make $500 a Day With Hand Puppets,” you could change that to: “How YOU Can Boost YOUR Income by $500 a Day With Hand Puppets.”
