Is Your Sales Page Selling? | Tough Love Tuesday

Today on Tough Love Tuesday, we go back to school, people! Back to “Sales and Marketing 101.”

Because I’ve been looking at the product and services pages on your websites… you know, those pages where you are telling people about what you’re selling or promoting, like your coaching services, or your new eBook, or your CD or your next event. And these pages could use a little help. A lot of help, actually.

Too often these product and service pages look more like price sheets than sales pages. There’s a small image of your product, which is good, but then you only have one or two lines of dry description and a “BuyNow” button. Well, that’s just not going to cut it.

Unless ALL your website visitors are already pre-sold on your products and services (meaning they’ve already heard about one of your products elsewhere, through a referral or a friend’s suggestion and they’re ready to buy before they hit your website), that kind of page isn’t doing you any favors. It doesn’t give your potential customer any reason to buy!

You have to answer that age-old marketing and advertising adage, “What’s in it for me?” You have to be sure that your product and service descriptions do a bang-up job of telling your prospects what they’re going to get when they buy your product. What are they going to experience? How will their life change? What questions will be answered? What problems will be solved? What’s in it for them?

These don’t have to be long, drawn-out descriptions. They can be 2-3 paragraphs, but they should speak directly to your prospective customers needs and wants.

So, go take a look at your products and services page right now! Are you describing your offers in a way that speaks directly to your potential clients and fans? Are you telling them what they’re going to get when they buy your stuff? Are you telling them in a way that inspires them to buy right there on the spot?

If not, go rewrite your copy now! If you need help doing so, give me a shoutout and we’ll get it done. And if you have questions about any of this, or you’ve got something to say, please leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you.
