The jury is in! And they have declared that those who succeed, those who realize their goals, those who create miracles in the lives of others do so by being consistent. They are consistent in who they are, in their daily practices and those actions that are aligned with their vision, their ideal.
I have become so aware of this fact lately. It is the entrepreneur or artist or artisan who takes consistent, aligned action who creates experiences of beauty, inspiration, healing and transformation for others. To us, it may seem like they are making magic in the moment, but that magic is the result of their consistent, aligned action. That singer who stole your heart with her song, that speaker or teacher who let you see your life in a whole new light, that accupuncturist who relieved you of your symptoms, that coach who lifted you out of dark place… they were able to do those things because they consistently did what they had to do to reach a certain level of excellence in their field.
When it comes to marketing that makes a difference, the same is true. It is the entrepreneur who is consistent and steadfast in their marketing activities who gets results. Whether you consistently to go networking events, or consistently blog, or consistently stay in contact with your clients or consistently follow up on leads… it is your consistency, more often than not, that will make the difference.
Conversely, those who struggle, complain and never seem to make it to the goal line are either inconsistent or they simply give up too early. They try something a few times, like blogging or posting on Facebook or sending an email newsletter, and if none of those things give them immediate, profitable results, they say, “Well, that didn’t work” and they stop.
If something is important to you, make the commitment to be consistent in those activities that will eventually give you the results you want. If you have a spiritual practice, you will deepen it only by giving your time and attention to that practice, consistently. If you have a creative practice, like writing or singing or playing music, you will get the results you want by consistently engaging in that practice. If you are into physical fitness, you know, you only get better a stronger when you consistently workout!
So, where do you need to be more consistent?
Is it in your marketing, your business? Is it in your spiritual life, your creative life? Is it in your communication or your relationships? First, determine which activities or practices are ideal for you and then do them consistently.
I know, it’s a challenge sometimes. You’ve got so much going on! So many things pulling you in different directions.
But what if you had some help? Some support? Some consistent encouragement, inspiration and accountability to keep you on track and energized? What if you had a group of fellow “consistency” commrades rooting for you? Wouldn’t that make it easier? And a lot more fun?
If this appeals to you, check out the new Just An Hour program we are starting on January 1, 2012. It’s a pretty cool way to start the New Year, and you will get what you need to be consistent in taking action towards your goal, resolution or practice that’s important to you.
Anything is possible when you’re consistent. If you take consistent action towards any goal, you will get there.
